The PoolCar, nestled in the sunny Algarve, is revolutionizing the way pool maintenance businesses operate. Until a decade ago three major car manufacturers offered compact pick-up cars which were used mostly for this job. However when the production was stopped, pool maintenance companies had to switch over to closed little vans. Not only was this less practical, but the fact that these cars were closed resulted in terrible smells and an unhealthy situation for employees caused by waste water and chemicals. Bart Hoogwerff Eikelenboom acknowledged this problem and got in contact with specialized electric vehicle manufacturer Spijkstaal from the Netherlands and together with Jeroen van der Heiden they managed to adopt the needs given by Dario Viera for a dedicated pool maintenance car.  Dario Viera who runs one of the bigger pool maintenance companies in the Algarve was struggling with the closed vans (fleet of 13 cars) and was encouraged to support us with the development of The PoolCar. The result was a compact, electric pickup truck designed for efficient and eco-conscious service. Our vehicle is perfectly suited for navigating the charming, narrow streets of the region, allowing cleaning professionals to reach their clients with ease and minimal environmental impact.
